Egypt: Salatet Zabadee Dip Recipe
Salatet Zabadee - a delicious Egyptian dip!
Salatet Zabadee is a delicious and super-easy to make yoghurt and cucumber dip from Egypt! You can also use this dip as a refreshing and cooling accompaniment to any number of spicy main dishes.

ingredients
1C plain yoghurt
1/2 large cucumber
8 mint leaves
1 clove garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cumin
pita bread or fresh vegetable crudités for dipping
method
De-seed and grate the cucumber. Squeeze out as much moisture as you can with a tea towel before adding to the other ingredients.
Crush the garlic and finely chop the mint.
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.
Let sit in the fridge for about an hour before serving.
Cut pita into small triangles and toast them in the oven. Serve warm with the vegetable crudités and salatet zabadee.
Prep Time 10 minutes. Makes 1.5 cups.
